The Epic Games Store holiday celebration is in full swing and s are once again getting treated to a The Vanishing of Ethan Carter – one of the best "walking sim" exploration games around, which is also making its debut on Epic's store.
Yesterday Epic s were treated to a copy of one of the best Soulslikes of the last few years, the best detective/exploration games on PC, not to mention a gorgeous one. Head here to grab it, just make sure to do so within the next 24 hours.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was released all the way back in 2014 on Steam before the Epic Games Store was even a thing. an Unreal Engine 4-powered Redux edition a year later.
The Redux edition adds improved visuals, a reworked save system that saves more often, improved loading times, and backtracking is now less of a chore. Presumably, this is the version of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter that's now completely free on the Epic Games Store – at least for the next 24 hours, so pick it up fast.

The Astronauts is currently working on an ambitious first-person shooter called Witchfire, which is still in development but we haven't heard much on for a while. Epic is offering a free game every day so make sure to check back in with us tomorrow to find out what the next morsel will be on the December calendar.
